We Get It
Picking the Right Fireplace Can Be Confusing
You want something new, beautiful, and warm where there's something old, outdated, and cold. But fireplaces are confusing, it's hard to know what's even possible in your house, and it's easy to put the whole project off another year—while the winters here stay cold and wet.
We'll make sure you get the one you need. One free in-home visit settles what's actually possible, our own gasfitters and technicians handle everything from the permit to the first fire, and the next storm that takes the power out finds you warm.

Chimney Service & Repair, by the Same Crew
Most hearth shops hand chimney work to somebody else. We sweep, inspect, reline, and rebuild with our own crew, so the people who sell you the insert are the ones who know what the flue above it needs.
Sweeping & Inspection
Once a year: the flue cleaned, the whole system checked, and a written report you can keep.

Repair & Restoration
Crowns, caps, flashing, repointing, and full rebuilds. Water is what takes a chimney apart, and we stop it.

Relining
A stainless liner sized to the appliance. It's how an old chimney takes a new insert safely.

Straight Answers
The questions every South Shore fireplace project runs into, answered the way we'd answer them at the counter.
Get Instant EstimateHow much does a fireplace cost installed in Plymouth?
It depends on the unit and on what your room actually needs, which is exactly why every fireplace on this site carries an instant estimate. It prices the unit, the venting, and the installation together in about two minutes, and the free in-home visit makes it exact before anything is ordered. We would rather give you a real range than a number we would have to walk back.
Do you need a permit to install a fireplace in Massachusetts?
Yes. Gas and venting work is permitted and inspected here, and it should be. We pull the permit on every job and meet the inspector. It is built into the process, not an extra line on the invoice.
Do you do the gas work yourselves?
Yes. Our gasfitters are on our own payroll, which is unusual for a hearth shop and it is the main reason our jobs land on one invoice. Electrical is the one piece we subcontract, and it still bills through us so you are never chasing a second trade.
Can you convert a wood-burning fireplace to gas?
Almost always. A gas insert drops into most existing masonry fireboxes and vents up the old chimney through a new stainless liner, turning a drafty opening into real, controllable heat. We confirm the fit, the flue, and the gas supply at the free in-home visit before anything is ordered.
Will an insert ruin my original masonry?
Not on our watch. Inside-fit inserts and trims measured to your opening keep the original brick visible. The goal is to give an old fireplace its fire back, never to cover it up. Bring photos to the showroom and we will show you what it would look like.
What happens when the power goes out?
That question comes up more here than almost anywhere, and it should. Wood stoves and wood inserts do not need electricity at all. Many gas units light and run without power, though you lose the blower. Pellet appliances stop without a battery backup. Tell us that outage heat matters and we will point you at the right ones.
Do you come to me, or do I come to you?
Both, in either order. The showroom on Court Street has units burning, and the in-home visit is free anywhere in our thirty-mile radius. Whichever you start with, we measure at your house before anything is ordered.
